A graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology and the University of Miami, Diana Gurri has continued to take courses and workshops in the art field throughout her life. She has taught elementary through college level, given workshops, produced woven clothing, fused glass, made monoprints, turned wood, worked with clay, fabric, wax, plaster, photography, and paper, created large fiber pieces and paintings for public buildings, exhibited in various galleries and shows, coached “Odyssey of the Mind” teams, judged creative contests, owned and managed an art gallery, produced theater costumes, and raised two daughters. She considers herself a painter first but current work is an intuitive combination of past endeavors letting each piece define itself as it evolves. Diana works from her studios in Winter Park, Fl. and Tryon, NC.
Artists Statement: "I take things I find, add them to what I have, mix them with past experiences, welcome unexpected outcomes, and repeat process until art evolves. My goal is to never stop finding, learning and creating."
